Did you know that dozens of different religious-based holidays will be taking place before the end of the year? Each has their own traditions, and most with an assumption that family and friends gather together.
But to many folks with marginalized identities, these holidays can be a high cause of anxiety. To those of you dreading the next few weeks: we see you and we support you.
Be an Ally
As a community, one way to support folks is be an ally. Start a conversation with family members. Explain different viewpoints, and have a strict intolerance for harmful comments and "jokes". Speak up and proactively support folks who might need it. You can even proclaim the message across your chest!
