Let's Talk Shorts

The VC short family is growing - we now have 3 very popular short styles! We want to take the time tell you a bit about them all and explain the differences between the styles and their sizing options.

One major update that we should point out has directly stemmed from VC changing the language used to describe our products. As you may have noticed, our online store has been slowly dissipating the use of gendered words to describe our clothing, because a piece of clothing doesn't have a gender, and everyone should feel comfortable ordering whatever size suits them without the pressures of social assumptions or constraints. Without further ado, let us give you a rundown on our three most popular shorts: the FlexLight Shorts, the Micro Shorts, and our Shorty Shorts.

1. FLEXLIGHT SHORTS

These are the standard shorts that have been a staple for us for decades. Made with our FlexLight material (the same we use for our high-quality jerseys), these shorts have also been called our "Goat" shorts in the past, in honour of the Toronto GOAT ultimate team who helped us develop them way back when.

We have a shorter length in this style, too—we call this our "Junior" cut/sizing (formerly known as women's sizing). The Junior cut are 4" shorter in the overall length and the inseam of the shorts.

At the end of the day, these shorts are soft, lightweight, and comfortable and perfect for yourself, or a full team order.

2. Micro Shorts

Oh, the Micro Shorts. These are my personal favourite due to their smooth microfibre material with 4-way stretch, allowing me the freedom I need to make big plays on the field. Not only do they stretch, but they are also water resistant, which is perfect for those nights you get caught in the rain without any pants. 

The Standard fit (previously known as the "men's" sizing) is more relaxed than our FlexLight shorts; however, the Junior sizing's fit is similar to the FlexLight Junior fit—the only difference is the material used.

3. Shorty Shorts

The newest to the VC Shorts family, the Shorty Shorts, made with our microfibre material, are inspired by classic running shorts, offering more comfort and optimal range of motion. 

These shorts are now also available in JR and Classic cuts!

What I really like about the Shorty Shorts is that you can add a fully sublimated side panel for that extra bit of flair that is sure to make your shorts the talk of the town.
